OUR MESSAGE

The Canadian Centre for the Prevention of In-Custody Death is focused on helping front-line emergency personnel save lives.

We work to provide first-rate educational programming to front-line emergency personnel to help ensure they have the best training possible.

Our training focuses on helping emergency personnel work more effectively as team members in order to make informed, split second decisions that save lives.

We ensure the integrity of our educational programs by providing the leading scientifically-supported research and best practices to our course participants.

We bring leading experts from around the word to share their insights on how best to save lives.

Finally, we ensure the integrity of everything we do by accepting NO funding from any equipment retailer or manufacturers or pharmaceutical companies.

OUR COMPANY - WHY WE'RE HERE

The Canadian Centre for the Prevention of In-Custody Deaths, Incorporated was a company born simply from recognition for the need, and an understanding and appreciation for the administrative roadblocks associated with it.

Gary Mulder, a 19 year veteran police officer of a municipal police service in Ontario has spent the last seven years serving in the training unit as a use of force and firearms instructor. During this time Gary witnessed first-hand the need for this unique training. Having seen an increase in calls for service related to the vulnerable sector of our population, including those suffering from mental illness, situations involving combative and bizarre behaviour is on the rise. These calls for service usually require a tiered response, and can often result in unfortunate and devastating outcomes. Gary believes that because these calls deteriorate rapidly and are combined with challenging circumstances requiring both police and EMS intervention, TEAMWORK is the only solution that can bring the best outcomes. The problem lies with this question, “Which comes first?” Medical intervention will most likely be the best but the fact still remains; medical intervention cannot begin until the patient is under control. As seconds count, having a team oriented and known goal can be the difference.

The Centre’s “Practical Solutions” Conference is aimed at delivering just that. Our speakers will be delivering updated, relevant, and useful information and tools for you and your agency to benefit from. It is designed with today’s fiscal challenges in mind and is economically priced. The bonus is that it should meet most of your agencies corporate goals. The conference is designed to be mutually beneficial for any member from any unit within your agency. It promotes camaraderie between the emergency services and agencies, and it shows a commitment to providing the community with the best service you can. From the Front Lines to the Research Department, Front Line Supervisors to Senior Administration, the information delivered will aid the delegate regardless of their work unit. Treat yourself or your employee with the opportunity to attend this unique and first class training while they stay at a beautiful and conveniently located hotel right on the Falls!
